You Sparkle Inside was written by Rachel Kann and illustrated by Rin Colabucci. Rin and Rachel met in dance class. Rachel is a poet who was born in California, USA and Rin is an artist who was born in Hiroshima, Japan. When Rachel first saw Rin's paintings, she knew they were meant to create You Sparkle Inside together. Rin is the daughter of a Japanese master craftsman and cannot remember a time in her life when she was not surrounded by art. Rachel has always loved words and reading has been one of her favorite ways to use her imagination ever since she was small. Rin was a very curious little girl, always looking for inspiration. She started backpacking early on, traveled and lived many places across the globe. She met her husband during her travels. They had two children together and now live in Los Angeles, California with a pug son. She has illustrated for numerous magazines and greeting cards for various charity causes. She also works as a homeopathic practitioner for health and wellness. Rachel grew up dancing in a small town and dreaming of traveling to the big city, but also to the moon. Now, she gets to perform her poetry all over the world. She has published two books of poetry. She is also a writing teacher, a dance teacher, a ceremonialist and a student of ritual and healing work in Jewish and Amazonian traditional lineages. She loves talking to people, stars, plants and animals, especially her poodle sister, Pearl. Rachel and Rin found the perfect partner in Emily Sperling, who helped them bring their story to life by making it into a book, putting Rachel's words and Rin's paintings onto the pages in the most beautiful way. Rachel, Rin, and Emily want to remind you that you can do or be anything you can dream of! They want to thank you for sparkling, and for reminding them that they sparkle, too.
