Sammy and Ferret's story is primarily one of how to be responsible while also having fun. His task of looking after the creatures of the forest, is to help them out whenever he can and keep them safe, even if he comes home later than he should. However, Sammy still likes to play games and have fun with his friends, which, of course can land him in trouble. Children will be able to identify with Sammy and his pet Ferret and they will laugh along with Sammy as he tries to get himself and Ferret out of trouble.
