Great nations are built on the framework of visionary plans. Papua New Guinea is poised to be a nation to be envied upon. For this purpose, the Government has envisioned the creation of a new society by 2050 which is expected to be smart, wise, fair, healthy and happy. But it is not an easy path. It requires the cooperation of political leaders, political parties, tapping of all resources, change of attitudes and mindset among the people, particularly the younger generation. The Vision document has been much debated before it was given momentum in 2011, It was also intended to be reviewed from time to time to ensure that the irritants it might have come across should not impede its further implementation.
