For four decades, Dr. Norman Jones has published books and made presentations about leadership, communications, teaching, and human development. He is now retired. He graduated from high school in Marion, Indiana, in 1954 and was awarded the Kiwanis Achievement Award for basketball. He earned a varsity letter for basketball at Manchester College and two letters at Ball State University. He earned a BA degree in education in 1959 and a MA degree in counseling and guidance in 1963 from Ball State. Dr. Jones became a head coach in basketball, baseball, and golf while teaching at high schools in North Vernon and Salem, Indiana, and in Palatine, Illinois. In 1977, he was granted a sabbatical from the Palatine school district and earned a doctorate in counseling and educational psychology from the University of Mississippi. In 1981, Dr. Jones published Keep in Touch with Prentice-Hall. He then founded Communication Unlimited and began his writing and speaking career. He appeared on WBBM-TV (CBS) in Chicago on the talk show Common Ground and was on WIND and WBBM radio shows. Dr. Jones published Performance Management in the 21st Century with St. Lucie/CRS Press. He taught graduate courses, including Human Development for Secondary School Administrators at Roosevelt University in Chicago, and Principles of Guidance at Northeastern Illinois University. He made presentations for Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the Illinois State Board of Education, the International Graphoanalysis Society, and the University of Wisconsin football staff. He published his memoir, Growing Up in Indiana: The Culture & Hoosier Hysteria Revisited, and then Main St. vs. Wall Street: Wake-up Calls for America's Leaders in 2010. He has published two articles for the Indiana Historical Society Press magazine Traces. During his retirement, he has made an effort to help the state of Illinois lose its moniker of being the most corrupt state in America. Part of that effort is told in this book with the appropriate title, The Untold Story about How Unions Took Over Illinois Government.
