This compelling family saga tells of three generations of a Tutsi family. It begins with the arranged marriage of Stella to an older man of the same tribe whom she has never met. She is prematurely withdrawn from school and married off despite her protests. With succeeding generations, however, the order of things changes and old tenets based on gender, traditions and sectarianism, are replaced with new concepts which seek to do away with all forms of discrimination.
