Mark Swiger's new book provides a vital blueprint for churches to fulfill Christ's Great Commission of making disciples globally. Titled "How To Lead People To Full Maturity," it utilizes the metaphor of a wagon train heading west. The book outlines a strategic five-step process for guiding congregants towards spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ. The steps include envisioning the end goal of a fully mature disciple, understanding growth stages towards Christlikeness, inspiring commitment for this transformative journey, evaluating individual progress, and crafting customized spiritual development plans.
Peppered with real-life vignettes, this practical manual leverages biblical types and kingdom principles to catalyze growth. Swiger hopes the Holy Spirit will integrate these eternal truths into ministries for creating mature disciples, akin to Jesus, the Apostles, and the early church. This book is a vital resource for both novice church planters and seasoned pastors, filled with tools and ideas for faith-building.
