"Anthony M. Giacobbe was born in Rahway, New Jersey, on December 10, 1932, to Antonio and Emanuella Giacobbe. He grew up with four siblings: Raf¿o, Anne, Angela, and Lawrence.He attended St. Mary's Grade School in Rahway and graduated from St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1955.From 1957 to 1958, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea. After his military service, he joined the family's construction business, where he played a leading role in developing residential housing communities. Over the course of his career, he helped build more than 425 homes, many of which today are valued at over a million dollars. In 1967, he was honored as Builder of the Year for his achievements.Outside of his work in construction, Anthony had a lifelong love for dancing and was named New Jersey Jitterbug Champion in 1985.He had an avid interest in World War history, belonging to such patriotic organizations as the American Legion and the Yankee Air Force, and served as commanding general of the Northeast Historical WWII Assn.After retiring from the building industry, he started an online business selling World War II memorabilia and equipment. He ¿nally retired at age 91 and moved to a retirement community.There, he wrote Prejudice and Pride, a story inspired by family, heritage, and the journey of overcoming obstacles with strength, faith,and integrity."
