Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles
available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. DINKY is
occasionally used (in the United States, UK, Canada, India, and China)
to describe a high-earning couple who do not to have children yet and
are therefore able to afford a more expensive consumer lifestyle than
those with families. The term was coined during the 1980s, at the height
of "yuppie" culture. The post-2000 economic crises have made this social
pattern more permanent as more couples wait longer than ever to have
kids, and more people choose not to have them at all (1 in 5).
