The planet Earth, formed millions of years ago, is a realm of advanced technology and science. This sharply contrasts with the planet Crett, which remains in an era of wizardry and magic. While good wizards are common on Crett, a few malevolent individuals do exist. A couple of years ago, a female wizard named Florence was determined to prevent the demons from the Parallel Dimension from taking over the surface world. During the ensuing struggle, the magic staff belonging to her father, Dennis, an evil wizard, was broken into two pieces. This caused the ground to open up, swallowing both Florence and the King of the demons.

Florence's cousin, Eydith, lives and works alongside a wizard named Linkwood. Although Eydith did not witness Florence's disappearance, she saw the bright flash of light and heard the loud crash as the crater was formed. Dennis vanished in a cloud of smoke after being hit by a fireball from Trinkel, the Archchancellor of Havrapsor University. Since that day, no one has seen or heard from him or Florence, leading to speculation that she is somewhere 'down there'. Now, two years later, a young ex-soldier named Psoddoph, who worked for Dennis, has decided that he and his good friend Jook will go and search for her.
