His first novel, Saint Sebastian School of Law, received critical praise. He is Chester A. Myers professor emeritus at Saint Louis University School of Law and currently a research professor at the University of California Law School SF. Before entering academia, he served as a trial lawyer and assistant chief in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice in Washington, DC.
