I grew up in rural Texas, where country values-honesty, hard work, and helping neighbors-formed the foundation of my character. After graduating high school, I joined the United States Air Force, an experience that deepened my sense of duty and inspired a lifelong commitment to serving others.Following my military service, I continued serving our nation for 18 years with the Department of the Army as a civilian employee. During that time, I earned a bachelor's degree in Social Work and a master's degree in Counseling and Psychology, further strengthening my commitment to supporting individuals, families, organizations, and communities through crisis.The experiences gained over nearly three decades in the crisis field inspired Crisis Calling, a novel that explores leadership, resilience, and the human realities behind life's most difficult moments. While the story is fiction, it is rooted in the emotional realities of those who answer difficult calls when others cannot.Throughout 22 years of federal service, I received numerous awards and decorations, but my proudest achievement is my daughter, Gracie. A close second was watching her marry the love of her life, Trey.Today, I have returned to my Texas roots, where I continue that mission through Crisis Calling LLC. As an author, trainer, and consultant, I help organizations strengthen prevention, intervention, and restoration through education, leadership development, and community engagement. When I'm not writing or teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading, spending time with family, and being outdoors.
