Meena Khatwa is an Assistant Professor and Programme Director for MSc Social Policy and Research at the UCL Social Research Institute. Her research expertise centres around qualitative methods, co-production, and participatory methods. Over the years Dr Khatwa has developed a portfolio of research that focuses on social and health inequalities amongst underserved and marginalised communities, as well social policy focused projects. Meena has a background in migration histories, gender, race, and culture using postcolonial and black feminist theoretical frameworks. She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology and was awarded a PhD by the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences & Geography at Queen Mary, University of London, for her thesis: Life Journeys: Narratives of Hindu Mothers & Daughters in British Homes. Her research led her to further develop knowledge and expertise in narrative methods, auto-ethnography, and positionality. Dr Khatwa is also a Lecturer in Intersectionality and Critical Qualitative Methods.

Jyoti Belur qualified in Economics and worked as a lecturer at the University of Mumbai before joining the Indian Police Service and serving as a senior police officer in the North of India. Now a Professor in Policing at UCL, she is the Programme Director for the MSc in Policing and has authored numerous published works, including a monograph, peer reviewed articles, book chapters and several reports. Dr Belur is interested in methodological issues and is a qualitative research methods expert. Her research interests include policing, police training and education, systematic reviews and evaluations, and violence against women and children.
