John and Stacy are inseparable until she betrays his trust. She marries a man named Brian, while he marries a woman named Connie. But it soon becomes clear that Stacy still has feelings for John. There is a liberal sprinkling of humor throughout the proceedings. The novel can best be described as a dramedy.
