DAN T. COENEN is a longtime teacher and scholar in the field of constitutional law. Before taking up the practice of law, he served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Clement F. Haynsworth Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Justice Harry A. Blackmun of the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1987, Coenen joined the faculty of the University of Georgia Law School, and in that role he has authored or coauthored dozens of journal articles, as well as four other books on constitutional law and history. Coenen has received many recognitions for his scholarship and teaching, including the highest honor for teaching excellence bestowed by the University of Georgia.
