Teresa McWhirter grew up in the East Kootenays of British Columbia. She received a BA at the University of Victoria with a double major in English and writing (with distinction). She is the author of six novels and has published fiction and poetry in a wide range of magazines and journals. Between bouts of writing and travel, Teresa has taught ESL in Korea, driven an ice cream truck, been an amusement park monster and opened vintage clothing stores. She also spent years touring with punk rock bands. Teresa lives in Vancouver with her cat, Porkchop.
